Want a purely cosmetic pet for your World of Warcraft character? Well, if you have ten bucks lying around you can buy one. And this isn't from shady gold-farming operation, mind you. This is an official Blizzard-approved transaction.

1Up reports that Blizzard has finally begun charging World of Warcraft subscribers real money for in-game stuff. They're starting with two pets added recently to the Blizzard Store: Lil' K.T., modeled after Kel'Thuzad; and a tiny Pandaren Monk.

Each pet goes for US$ 10. Kinda steep, but it's for a good cause. Well, for a time at least. Until December 31, half of the proceeds from the Pandaren Monk will go to the Make-a-Wish foundation. After that it's all Blizzard's profit. More pets are also planned for the future.
