A new update comes in from the beta journal of The Lord of the Rings Online. For this entry, the participants of the Beta Program shared their experiences with playing the Guardian class.

According to the journal, the Guardian selected to be created by the participant was the Dwarf. The opening sequence would be you following in Gimli's wake as he prepares to see his father off to the Lonely Mountain to fight Smaug. Apparently, once you get in the valley below the Halls, you'll find that the the Guardians' DPS-ability isn't that of a solo machine. Now, although this may be disappointing for you at first, there's some good news to it as well.

Majority of the Epic Quest line requires that you be in a fellowship. Now, what the participant did was to form his own. What he found out was that with the combination of his shield and high-damage-capacity, he could actually defend all of his fellows--at once!

Needless to say, it's pretty apparent that the guys participating at the Beta are duly impressed with the game. Not only are the graphics "beautiful", the playable classes are also thrilling. As a last note on the beta journal, the participant writes, "When feel [the game] makes me feel like I have to get the heck off the road when some crazy hobbit riding a horse is barreling towards me, then I know that [Turbine] have, regardless of whatever bugs that still needs to be fixed, done an amazing job!"

Yeah, good job, Turbine.
