Final Fantasy XI Online - Image 1Bannination is at hand in the land of Final Fantasy XI Online, people! According to a news bulletin posted at the game's official site, an issue allowing players to create multiple items for particular treasures and rewards by exploiting the game system in areas like Salvage and Assault were discovered on November of last year by the team.

To address this issue, they then had an emergency maintenance on the 26th of the same month. Lo and behold, some ever-ingenious gamers further exploited the issue and used it to get some more additional items for themselves, even before the problem was fully fixed.

So they went on to investigate more than a year's worth of logs throughout all areas. Now, that's a lot of logs. And what they found was that there were also lots of players who were actually in on the "scam".

As a result, they had 400 players temporarily suspended, as based on the evidence they gathered through the course of the said investigation. But not only that, there were also some 550 players, who had committed more serious misconduct, permanently banned.

That sucks, but they sure had it coming. If you're planning on doing any more tricks on FFXI Online, save it. They're really bent on curbing this anomaly. Just play fun and clean, ayt?
