Final Fantasy XI - Image 1In a bid to preserve game integrity and balance, about 6,750 PlayOnline accounts for the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI by Square Enix were terminated by PlayOnline, with 1,150 accounts temporarily suspended. The massive account suspension and termination were caused by the use of illegal third party tools and Real Money Trading (RMT) cases. The accounts were terminated and suspended after the recent server maintenance.

The violations that triggered the downfall of many a player are as follows: the usage of third party tools that enhanced character movement allowed the circumvention of game mechanics, enables the use of repeated action, monster monopolization, etc.

About 2.3 billion gil were also removed from the servers to preserve the in-game economy within Final Fantasy XI.
