Sword Straps - Image 1Final Fantasy fans better prepare themselves some changes that'll be coming to the game this month. PlayOnline's Final Fantasy XI development team has brought word of upcoming changes to two-handed weapons, as well as the addition of weapon grips to the game.

According to their notice, it seems that they're implementing these changes to balance out the speed and power of dual-wielders when compared to two-handed weapon users.

In this case, what they're basically doing is enhancing the benefits two-handed weapon users get from attribute scores to make up for the slow speed of the weapon. In addition, higher-leveled characters will apparently notice more damage being dealt to enemies, at least once the upgrade is complete.

Related to this is the implementation of Grips within the game. These weapon grips will basically confer off-hand bonuses for two-handed weapon wielders, such as the weapon attack speed increase you can see pictured above.
